Innovation The Cortez's unique side-loading design allows top-to-bottom access, and the clear waterproof lining lets you get your eyes on your gear before you put your hands on it. The waist strap's buckle is fixed over padding, eliminating an extra strap and taking some discomfort out of paddling on a surfboard or belly crawling along the floor of a cave. For more casual use, the waist strap can be removed. Wet gear (or stinky socks) can be stored between the waterproof liner and the mesh outer, allowing it to ventilate and dry separately. An easy access side pocket keeps knick-knacks handy, and on the opposite side an elastic-topped mesh pocket is the perfect fit for a Nalgene water bottle.
